Social Security Calculations for Retirement:

If you are at least 66 years old, you can file for benefits but “suspend” the benefits until you are older and then your spouse can apply for spousal benefits (50 percent of your benefits) on your work record while still allowing both you and your spouse’s retirement benefits to grow at 8 percent per year until age 70.
